Blessings!

I went to post today and I am always so blessed by the comments I receive! Mason once said that checking the blog is like an easter egg hunt every morning! So much richer treasures are you all! Thank you. Madi and I went to a Look Good Feel Better class yesterday at the oncologists office. What a special time with other women in my situation! I was blessed by all of them and their determination to make lemonade! Tomorrow is my appointment to see the oncologist and have blood work done to see how I am doing. It is important to stay on schedule with chemotherapy but it is also important for my body to stay strong. As always, please pray that the Dr. is amazed! I always have a difficult time with allergies and the fall is especially trying. Please pray that they will ease and not wear me down. As I spent time with the Lord this morning, this is a verse that touched me. Psalm66:20 "Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!" Thank you all for your prayers, my peace at this time is amazing.

  1. I've got to learn how to post! This is my first time. It was so good to see you Sunday. And what a blessing that service was! All of us can relate to what was said, but it sounded like it was written particularly for you. And like you said in your last blog, it is a spiritual battle as well as physical. "We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do." Eph.6:12-21 I sound preachy going on like this, but I love this. In your struggle, "in the way"(Ps.32:8) that you find yourself in, you are in a unique position to be a witness to others facing the same struggles . . . maybe these lovely women you met yesterday! You can be a blessing to them. During the summer I read Randy Pausch's book "The Last Lecture" and I was greived for him that no one shared the gospel with him, even his pastor! (At least by the book's account.) He only wanted to "share things (he) had learned through (his) relationship with people." How fortunate you are to have a relationship with God!!! You are a beautiful, Godly woman. Let your light shine in your unique spot in the world.
I love you, I think about you every day, and I am praying for a complete recovery.

  2. I'm so glad that it sounds like you were blessed by the women you met today... I have not doubt that you were a great blessing to them... Will be praying for you as you go to your appointment and that God will minimize...or better yet...take away your struggles with allergies.

  3. Dear Friend, Again and again we seem to turn to the Psalms for peace and encouragement. This morning I was reading Ps 103:1-5 and thought of you. "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, all my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles." Praise God for His lovingkindness and tender mercies towards you. I'll be praying especially for your doctor's appointment tomorrow and I have all your chemo dates marked on my calendar.

  4. Vicki,
Your faith and trust is amazing. I just read your blog and sense the walk you have with the Lord and all He is teaching you. Thank you so much for your humility and for being so candid and open in revealing what is really going on in your heart and the degrees of struggles. If we could all only be that honest with ourselves!
I will be anxious to hear the results of the bloodwork and how the chemo is working. We will be praying for you at our Bible study this morning.
    Love, Kelly

Ps 94:18-19. I love this acknowledgement David reveals and it makes me think of you..

"When I said, my foot is slipping, your love, o Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought great joy to my soul"
